All gifts or donations need to be vetted and approved by the University Advancement Department. Please complete the University Advancement Gift In Kind Acceptance Form (PDF) from University Advancement’s website. Once a new asset is received, the Property Office - working closely with University Advancement - will tag it and add it to our list of assets.

No. A University employee may not keep University property upon leaving the University. Transferring the title to the computer to an individual (or an organization/entity) is prohibited by CA Constitution Article 16, Sec. 6. In case of current employment, it is more specifically prohibited by Gov. Code Sec. 18000 and ICSUAM 5210 Sec.300. Moreover, former employees are not allowed to receive public property as a bonus or extra compensation, according to CA Constitution Article 4, Sec.17. All University property must be returned to the University upon retiring or end of employment.
No. The University does not sell property in one-on-one sales to individuals. Computers are not sold by public auction. Other items can be auctioned off. They will go to the highest bidder for a minimum of fair market value. Staff or faculty members may participate as bidders in the public auction.

Shipping and Receiving is only responsible for incoming shipments and deliveries within campus.
Mail Services handles outgoing packages and mail.
Monday through Friday by 3 p.m., except holidays.

No, the metering of personal mail through the University postage meter constitutes the misuse of State funds and is not allowed. Personal mail (inbound and outbound) shall not be sent through Mail Services. The Shipping & Receiving Department will not be responsible for delivering personal packages as this also constitutes the misuse of State Funds.
